5. Nick Diaz

Only this month, Nick Diaz has been publicly discussing the possibility of him returning to the Octagon in 2020. But if Dana White has anything to do with it, it might not be an easy route back for the older Diaz brother.

Both Nate and Nick Diaz are phenomenal fighters, eye-catching personalities, and always often surrounded by controversy, but Nick’s UFC issues came to a head in the lead up to UFC 137.

With Nick set for a hugely anticipated fight against Georges St-Pierre, Dana White lost his mind after Diaz outright skipped any and all press gatherings to promote the fight. Feeling backed into a corner and worried there'd be a perception that all fighters could walk all over the UFC, White made the call to pull Diaz from this dream fight.

Instead, Diaz was replaced in the main event by Carlos Condit, and Nick would take on BJ Penn elsewhere on the card. As luck would have it, the GSP vs. Condit fight was scrapped due to St-Pierre picking up an injury, and Diaz vs. Penn would end up nabbing the main event spot on the PPV.

Even though he allowed Nick Diaz to fight on that PPV, Dana White didn’t hold back in his public comments – citing how he’d never trust Diaz ever again.

Nick would actually beat Penn at UFC 137, but the next several years were troubled by three straight losses and plentiful suspensions for him.
