Kevin Randleman was a former NCAA Divison I wrestler for Ohio State University who emerged as one of MMA's top stars in the late-90s and early-2000s.

He began his career training under former UFC Heavyweight Champion Mark 'The Hammer' Coleman, who also happened to be his wrestling coach at Ohio State.

Randleman's finest moment in the cage occurred back in 1999 at UFC 23. That evening, the former Buckeye would go on to defeat Pete William and capture the UFC Heavyweight Championship.

Randleman's remarkable career lasted approximately 15 years and included notable victories over the likes of stars such as Mirko Cro Cop, Maurice Smith, and Pedro Rizzo. Following his departure from the UFC, he also competed for other major promotions including Pride and Strikeforce.

On February 11, 2016, after initially being admitted to the hospital with pneumonia, the 44-year-old former champion suffered a fatal heart attack.
