10 UFC Fighters Who Injured Themselves To Victory

4. Conor McGregor's Torn ACL (Vs. Max Holloway)

For his second appearance on this list, we head back to a time when Conor McGregor wasn't the household name we know today.

Anyone in the know will be well aware of McGregor's pedigree coming into the sport (becoming the first European pro-mixed martial artist to hold titles in two divisions at the same time) and that's why when he dispatched the now current Featherweight champ, Max Holloway (his last 'L' on his record) at Fight Night 26 with a unanimous decision, it only turned the heads of the people not up to speed with his rise.

It only came to fruition that McGregor had suffered an injury part way through the fight when afterwards he described hearing a pop in the second round from his left knee. The injury sustained consisted of a torn ACL and damaged MCL and meniscus.

To control the situation from there on out, without doing too much further damage, highlights the class that few give McGregor credit for in 2019.
