8. Anderson Silva

A Spider has just crawled into our legend conquering conversation and his name is Anderson Silva.

Ever since arriving on the UFC scene, Silva looked destined to be a game-changer and he didn't disappoint.

Going undefeated in his first 16 (!) bouts in the company, the flamboyant fighter quickly captured the Middleweight title and held it to ransom for 2,457 days - becoming the most successful Middleweight that the promotion had ever seen in the process.

It wasn't just simply dominating his division that made him so captivating. It's the fact that he did it with a style and arrogance that was unheard of in the Octagon at the time, dropping his hands and teasing his opponents into dropping their guard, before going in for the kill.

Silva didn't have an easy reign by any means, though. Tasked with powering through a stacked division, Silva claimed victories over Rich Franklin, Dan Henderson, Forrest Griffin, Chael Sonnen, Vitor Belfort and Demian Maia.

Sure, he's experienced a cataclysmic fall from grace over the last few years, but few can brag about having the longest title reign in UFC history and even fewer could've beaten the men Silva did to achieve that feat.
