10 UFC Stars Who Lived Up To Their Nicknames
5. Chuck ‘The Iceman’ Liddell
There are few people as responsible for the popularisation of MMA as knock-out artist Chuck 'The Iceman' Liddell. Most notable for his incredible run of victories in the early 2000s, Liddell's ability and personality led to him becoming a real flag-bearer for the sport.
Liddell gained his nickname from his apparent unshakable demeanour before any fight. Liddell was well known for just being incredibly relaxed no matter the occasion - notably, he would often even take a nap before big fights. Liddell would spend his entire career impressing in just these sort of big occasions, winning titles and knocking out huge names in the sport for fun.
Liddell was an unflappable MMA machine who quite simply just never let the pressure of being the sport's biggest draw get to him. The Hall of Fame inhabiting power-house was cool and calm outside of the ring and absolutely devastating inside it. The Iceman has earned his reputation as a man for the big occasion and as cool a customer as the sport has ever known.
