10 UGLIEST Wrestling Championships Ever

1. New York Hardcore Championship

Remember how Taz, in lieu of being unable to compete for an injured Shane Douglas' ECW World Heavyweight title, opted instead to nab an ECW World Television title replica and cover it in Taz-associated mantras? Tommy Dreamer did so, too, with a WWE European title duplicate.

The outcome was...well, you've seen it in the picture above.

It's ghastly. It's appalling. It's lurid.

Grabbing an old Euro title, Dreamer proceeded to 'decorate' it in assorted New York paraphernalia, plaster a New York-issued license plate on the front with a kendo stick-wielding Statue of Liberty, and call himself the Hardcore Champion. Indeed, THIS was the title officially unified with Rob Van Dam's Intercontinental title on the 26 August 2002 Monday Night Raw, NOT the familiar Hardcore title known to fans.

What makes this championship so laughable is that Dreamer - or whoever actually designed the belt - did so for one night. The original Hardcore title had become so run-down with wear and tear over the years that dragging it out one last time was a no-go. Bradshaw also had an exclusive design, dubbed the Texas Hardcore title; it was based on 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin's Smoking Skull design of the WWE title. Dreamer's, however, was so reprehensible that Bradshaw's custom design almost passes as being tolerable.
