10 Unexpected WWE Moments Caught On Camera

9. The Acolytes Hammering Public Enemy

The Wrestling Observer guru certainly wouldn't have been so generous to The Acolytes vs. Public Enemy on the 7 March 1999 edition of Heat.

A few short weeks before WrestleMania XV, Johnny Grunge and Rocco Rock were beaten senseless live on air by Faarooq and Bradshaw, reportedly because they believed their own hype and wanted to change the finish. Unhappy that Public Enemy didn't want to go through tables, the WWF stalwarts went to town on them.

It's a wonder neither Grunge or Rock were seriously injured by this demolition at the hands of The Acolytes. Faarooq and Bradshaw gave Public Enemy a serious kicking around the ring, delivered numerous stiff strikes and battered them relentlessly with steel chairs.

It was clear to all watching that this wasn't a work. What was supposed to be a throwaway tag match to fill time on Heat became a grisly reminder that some guys just don't get along behind the scenes.
