In the months leading up to their 2 Out Of 3 Falls clash at No Way Out 2001, several attempts were made by both Triple H and Steve Austin respectively to get underneath the others' skin, whilst maintaining the stipulated, "no physical contact before the PPV" clause in their match contract, beginning at the contract-signing itself.

Austin signs the contract, and paces frustratedly. After appearing to have signed the contract as well, and with Stone Cold's back to him, HHH grabs the metal briefcase in which said contract was kept, and blindsides Austin in the back with it, continuing to attack the defenseless man.

As Hunter interrupts an irate McMahon to tell him that he in fact was just then, at that point, signing the contract, therefore his assault on Austin would prove to be valid and not in violation of his agreement.

Stone Cold knew just how to get revenge on The Cerebral Assassin, even if he couldn't get his hands on The Game himself.

Austin proceeded to layout Stephanie McMahon with a Stone Cold Stunner, prompting HHH to pull antics of a similar fashion, by feigning an interview segment with Jim Ross on an episode of SmackDown, only to lay him out with a Pedigree, knowing he had been one of Austin's best, if not only friends.

The promo ends in grand style having demonstrated the intensity of the hatred these two individuals shared for one another.

What’s up fellow Pro-Wrestling FANADDICTS, (and yes, I’m a aware that is not the correct way to spell “fanatics,” but I thought since this was my introduction I’d ease everyone into my sarcastic sense of humor before just jumping off the proverbial high-dive.) ANYWHO, I have been OBSESSED, and not just because I legitimately was diagnosed at 8 years old with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, with Pro-Wrestling. It is BAR-NONE, my biggest passion in life. If I didn’t have to pay bills, I’d do it for free! (Work in the industry in any capacity).
