10 Unintentionally Hilarious WWE Moments
5. Terry's Big Meltdown
The Hulkster is one of wrestling’s great talkers. If he can’t carry a thought as well as a Jake The Snake or CM Punk, or convey emotion like an Austin or Dusty, he excels on the stick through sheer charisma. He believes in his nonsense, and so the crowd does too.
This was certainly true in the ‘80s and ‘90s, anyway. When Hogan returned to the fold after the collapse of WCW, his once-unshakable confidence was a little less solid. In a cringeworthy war of words with Vince McMahon, he first confuses “right” and “wrong”, insisting he was “the right guy at the wrong - at the right time”.
He then takes another swing at it, and describes himself as “the right gay”, before losing his train of thought altogether. The ever-forgiving WWE universe doesn’t hassle Hogan as he splutters to get his thoughts out, and Hogan puts on a brave face, but from the off, he’s rocked.
The same happened at WrestleMania XXX, when Hogan as host wrongly called the venue the Silverdome, rather than the Superdome. This time, fans weren’t so forgiving. Thankfully, this was the last time Hogan was ever caught on tape saying something he shouldn’t.
