10 Unusual Ways To Lose Your Job With WWE

5. Choke Someone With A Tie

WWE

Believe or not, Daniel Bryan - one of the calmest, most level-headed WWE superstars in history - was once fired from the company for being too violent. On the June 7, 2010 episode of Monday Night Raw, the John Cena-CM Punk main event was interrupted by all eight of the rookies from season one of NXT. In a shocking finale to the show, the men destroyed Cena and Punk, trashed the ringside area, attacked workers at ringside, and tore up the ring itself.

One of the most memorable images from the carnage was Daniel Bryan assaulting ring announcer Justin Roberts. Bryan had ripped Roberts's shirt off, then began choking him with his tie. Unfortunately, the choking crossed the line. Days later, WWE released Bryan, informing him that his actions were too violent for their sponsors (some also speculated that they feared the choking could be seen as evocative of the Benoit murders/suicide).

WWE fans - especially those who had waited years to see Bryan in the big leagues - were stunned. Luckily for all parties, the firing was nothing more than a brief face-saving measure. At SummerSlam, Bryan returned to the company to help Team WWE defeat his former NXT teammates.
