Vince McMahon's would-be hot summer story-line for 2007 began with an angle on Raw where he was insulted by his peers, then walked past a somber assembly of wrestlers before getting into a limousine - which promptly exploded. The storyline - which would have seen an investigation into McMahon's death and an eventual reveal that he had faked it - was abruptly dropped after Chris Benoit murdered his family and committed suicide.

The initial angle is all that aired of the storyline, but it was enough to doom the career of one exciting young superstar. When McMahon sullenly walked past his talent, all of them solemnly averted their eyes - except for Paul London, who gawked at McMahon and smiled. He soon found himself losing more matches, and by the next year, he was unemployed.

After his release, London stated that he had no idea what the angle with McMahon entailed prior to participating in it, and he was simply told to watch McMahon as he walked by. He chose a facial expression that he felt was most appropriate, though he was soon corrected - according to London, McMahon would chastise him for his behavior several times after the angle.
