10 Most Unusual Wrestling Injuries Ever

5. Vince McMahon Tears Both Of His Quads

Vincequad At the 2005 Royal Rumble, Vince McMahon showed the world that his "the show must go on" mantra didn't just extend to his employees, but to himself, even in the face of what had to be excruciating pain. After the Rumble match itself, with Batista and John Cena going over the top rope and touching the floor at the same time, Vince came angrily marching to the ring to clear things up. When he ran to hop up into the ring, he slammed his thighs into the ring apron. He tried to stand up, but his legs immediately buckled, sending him back to the mat. Instead of curling up into a ball and waiting for medical assistance, he simply shifted his weight, sat up against the ropes, and barked his instructions from a seated position while everyone wondered what was going on. Depending on which version of the story you believe, he either tore one of his quads on impact, and then tore his other quad as he tried to walk around on his injury backstage, or he tore them both when he hit the ring. The reasoning behind his injury was simple, though... after spending several hours sitting in the "gorilla position" backstage, Vince's muscles were "cold" and not warmed up at all. When he went to hop onto the ring apron, he didn't get off the ground like he wanted to, which caused him to slam into the hard wood apron with a lot of physical force. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4QLe_tAQ2Rs Quadriceps tears weren't new to wrestling, but to see someone of Vince's caliber suffering the injury after doing pretty much nothing at all, and then not even letting it bother him? That was incredible to watch.
