10 Upcoming Wrestling Stories That Are Already Doomed

2. Roman Reigns vs. Solo Sikoa

The Rock Cody Rhodes

That Solo Sikoa falls short of Roman Reigns in so many aspects of his performance works for the story WWE is telling with the Bloodline.

Reigns, as the 'Original Tribal Chief', is everything Sikoa is not. Solo is the pretender to his throne. Insecurity drove Sikoa to usurp Roman in his post-WrestleMania 40 absence, alienate Paul Heyman and Jimmy Uso, and surround himself with Tanga Loa, Tama Tonga, and Jacob Fatu. In kayfabe, he is a punk. A phony. A fake. Roman will ultimately beat him because Roman is the 'Tribal Chief.' He's better than Solo. That's the story.

The trouble is that Solo Sikoa not being very good has already wobbled one pay-per-view main event. At SummerSlam 2024, he entered a listless performance against Chody Rhodes, short of even Reigns' late-2020 talk-and-brawls despite generous agenting. He has not been able to deliver as a high-level singles wrestler, though he may fare well in whatever form the Bloodline's stable warfare with an opposing Reigns-led force takes.

Fatu is the real Roman Reigns money match at the moment. For Sikoa's sake, WWE would be wise to get his Roman match over and done with long before building to Jacob.
