10 Ups & 0 Downs From AEW Dynamite (25 Jan - Review)

4. Bryan Vs Brian, David Vs Goliath, Takeshita Vs The World

MJF Bryan Danielson Brian Cage

Just call AEW butter or Adam Wilbourn, because it's on a roll.

The weakest match of the Bryan Danielson-wrestles-everybody story served as the strongest development in the Danielson/MJF Revolution programme, and the contest itself was still pretty great. This is the mark of promotion with its ducks in a row.

Cage and Danielson had a decent David Vs Goliath outing, the monster was simply outwrestled by his more technically talented foe because all wrestling isn't Vince McMahon's wrestling, and the Number One Contender yet again highlighted why he's a perennial favourite at the top of the pile. With the result lost but MJF's bounty in play, Cage's post-match beatdown brought Friedman out for the assault, but Konuske Takeshita got a sliver of revenge for his sh*t -talking two weeks ago by stopping planned Pillmanising of Danielson's arm.

MJF revealed later in the show that he'd lined up Timothy Thatcher to do what he and Cage couldn't earlier in the night. Expect Bryan's arm to be as good as hanging off for the full duration of their 60 minutes on March 5th, inviting 'The Salt Of The Earth' to shoot for the very move baring his nickname at every opportunity.

It's a mind and body game from the Champion, but one everybody knows the Challenger has it in him to survive. Speaking of which...
