10 Ups & 0 Downs From AEW Dynamite (Nov 4)
Moxley and Kingston make magic in perfect pro-wrestling promo battle.
Last night's AEW Dynamite over-delivered. Big time.
That the All Out go-home show was one of the year's most disappointing on TNT didn't exactly breed excitement for this final stop on the road to Full Gear. Neither did the card, which looked solid with bouts like Sammy Guevara and Ortiz vs. MJF and Wardlow and Miro vs. Trent, but unspectacular compared to last week's ripping in-ring lineup.
That the show was such a triumph proves that one should never bet against Tony Khan's pencil, as the promotion successfully reshuffled following the cancellation of Scorpio Sky vs. Shawn Spears by inserting the Young Bucks and Private Party. On the night, everything that went down was faithful to existing character arcs and storylines, and while the episode's biggest highs came from things that went down outside of matches, such is Khan's go-home booking policy. While it didn't always work on the All Out go-home, this was a home run.
Ongoing US election coverage means the ratings will almost certainly be a bloodbath this week, so AEW's numbers won't reflect the quality of the show (and neither will NXT's). Regardless, they nailed it. This show ruled.
Let's light the fuse.
