10 Ups & 0 Downs From AEW Dynamite (Nov 4)

8. Duelling Interviews

Hangman Page Jim Ross
AEW

Kenny Omega is the more confident man heading into his Full Gear bout with Hangman Page.

This was the big takeaway from the wrestlers' respective sitdown interviews with Tony Schiavone and Jim Ross. While Page claimed he thought he was gonna kick Omega's ass, he admitted his nervousness when JR prodded further, and the Sad Millennial Cowboy in him came out when he said if he didn't win, he wouldn't have anything left but whisky.

Those seeds of doubt will be watered at the pay-per-view.

'The Best Bout Machine', meanwhile, appears bulletproof. From his temporarily rented home in Jacksonville, Omega said that any betting man would have put money on him at the start of the tournament, let alone the final stage, and that he is destined to beat Page and become the next World Champion. This gives AEW something to book around should they choose to go with a surprise result and have Page win (Hangman preying on Kenny's overconfidence), which does just enough to put the result in doubt.

Not perfect, but good.
