10 Ups & 1 Down From AEW Dynamite (Feb 19)

2. Hangman & Omega Jump The Last Hurdle

Introduced via a quick vignette calling back to Page and Omega's previous losses to The Lucha Brothers, last night's Tag Team Championship bout was the best two-on-two that Pentagon and Fenix have wrestled in the months.

Rather than slipping into their usual high-octane gear, the Lucha Bros dialled down on the cocaine, adhering to a more traditional layout. This has been a theme throughout Page and Omega's run. They're not going balls-to-the-wall like viewers had come to expect from the division. Instead, they've been starting methodically and carefully, slowly building up to dramatic crescendos that ensure the big bombs finally mean something when they come, rather than being spammed to the point of triteness in the first and second acts.

From a workrate perspective, this was the best thing on the show. Patient, purposeful work from four great wrestlers who never felt like they were in a rush. The layout was so strong that Pentagon's Destroyer hit with real impact at a time when the move has never felt so worthless and it all wrapped up with Omega and Page's great finisher, the tandem Buckshot Lariat/V-Trigger.
