10 Ups & 1 Down From AEW Dynamite (Sep 30)

Cody Dasha

"No," was Cody's first response to Brodie Lee's dog collar match challenge. As an Executive Vice President, he had to think about the optics of putting such an unsafe, bloody match on television, and he takes those responsibilities very seriously. So, no. There would be no dog collar match.

Just kidding.

'The American Nightmare' turned back around, spitting down the microphone that he had no regrets, there'd be no looking back, and the TNT Title match was going down, heating things up after a great, great babyface promo. He spoke on his imposter syndrome over appearing alongside the likes of Rosario Dawson on The Go-Big Show, saying he was just the guy who got beaten in three minutes, which kept his feet planted firmly in the ground. Injured or hurt he may be, but the breaking of the body comes second to the spirit. Clearly, with the way he fired up, his spirit isn't in question.

Brodie Lee stomped out from the back after Cody had answered the challenge, and the ensuing brawl was great. This projected the right kind of chaos. Swarmed by the Dark Order and the AEW locker-room, Brodie and Cody were barely held back, lost in a wild, unhinged fight that also saw Brandi Rhodes and Anna Jay get into it, while Nyla Rose hopped the barricade to batter KiLynn King. Like the best Dynamite angles, it had a pulsing energy that felt like it couldn't be contained - even in a near-empty arena.
