10 Ups & 1 Down From AEW Fight For The Fallen (Jul 15)

Chris Jericho's dousing segment was a lot. Let's approach it on two fronts.
First, ratings stuff. 'The Demogod' is the kind of nickname only Jericho can get away with without looking like a corny bastard. This part of the promo was designed to annoy the Reply Guys who jumped in his and Tony Khan's mentions when they correctly pointed out that the 18-49 demographic was a more important metric than overall viewership, so fair play. If you got upset by this, it did its job. Just don't argue with the man: shows are literally ranked by the demo, not the overall.
The Orange Cassidy content was less effective, dragging the segment down somewhat. Jericho cut a good promo on 'Freshly Squeezed,' who he said would never get a rematch after Fyter Fest, leading to OC emerging from the bleachers. He did the Gladiator thumbs up/thumbs down bit (with apologies to Sami Callihan) before a big tank of orange juice unloaded from above, dousing The Inner Circle, with Jericho inadvertently drying himself down with a 'King of Sloth Style' towel.
That this incident brought it the best of pissy Jericho on commentary is another plus point, though this felt like a WWE-style stunt. Nonetheless, it keeps the feud rolling. A trios match pitting OC and Best Friends against Jericho and two Inner Circle pals could be next.
