10 Ups & 1 Down From Impact Wrestling Slammiversary XVI

Ups...

10. New Fan? No Problem...

That Impact made this pay-per-view so accessible from a narrative standpoint is testament to the great work their new management have done since taking over late last year. As with any other pay-per-view, those who've been keeping up with weekly television will have taken the most from it, but the promotion put great work into ensuring that anyone could jump into Slammiversary and still be able to figure out what was going on.

They accomplished this not only through a sublime social media campaign, but by uploading a number of playlists recounting the show's biggest storylines over the weekend. Their YouTube channel became a fountain of useful primers. If you wanted to get invested in Impact's biggest event of 2018, all it took was 20-30 minutes and a couple of clicks, and you'd be all set.

Stuff like this will prove invaluable in regaining lapsed fans and attracting new ones. Impact is America's most story-rich promotion, and every Slammiversary bout meant something, but none of it was impenetrable. This was largely down to the marketing campaign, and the fantastic job the company's digital production team continue to do in 2018.
