10 Ups & 1 Down From NXT TakeOver: Vengeance Day

7. Toni Time On Ice

By the end, Io Shirai was opportunistically stealing a march on her opponents by pinning Mercedes Martinez for the win. The agent in charge of this triple threat needs a pat on the back for how they formatted things here; Storm and Martinez almost looked like they were having a singles match post-Shirai dive.

Then, boom. Io came out of nowhere to get the pin.

Surely, that outcome foreshadows what happens next. Toni Storm looked positively gutted after the match when she realised what went down, and she'll now pursue a one-on-one match with the reigning champion to thrash things out. Being honest, that's what WWE must book this coming Wednesday..

Io toughed it out, Martinez took the fall, Toni got protected and now she has a legit gripe to lean on and chase a singles title shot against Shirai. Bring that right on, because it's going to be bags of fun. Storm's time is near.
