10 Ups & 2 Downs From Impact Wrestling Rebellion 2020 (Part 1)

The only Rebellion too big for just one night.

Willie Mack Impact X Division Champion
Impact Wrestling

It wasn't the Rebellion we had hoped for, but Impact Wrestling certainly made the most of a bad situation. They pulled out all the stops to ensure the second Rebellion event in history was memorable for good reasons rather than bad, and we're only halfway in. Who knows what part two will have in store next week?

In the only championship match of the evening, Willie Mack became the one to dethrone Ace Austin of his X Division title, ending the reign that began at Bound For Glory last October. 'Chocolate Thunder' has excelled as a singles performer since Rich Swann went down with an injury at the start of January, so to see him finally lifting an Impact championship was truly the icing on the cake.

Aside from Mack's crowning moment, Sami Callihan and Ken Shamrock collided in their hotly-anticipated Unsanctioned Match that saw a massive shock, Rhino and Tommy Dreamer were joined by a former World Tag Team Champion making his Impact return, Kylie Rae again showed everyone exactly how great she is when provided with a big platform to do so, and The North laid down a challenge for their tag titles, amongst other highlights. All in all, it was a lovely show.

The exciting news is that it's not over quite yet. We've got part two to look forward to in a week's time, but for now, let's get to it for part one...
