10 Ups & 3 Downs From AEW Dynamite (Oct 28)

2. Anything

MJF Ortiz
AEW

Running through everything that happened in Chris Jericho and MJF's Town Hall Meeting would take a bigger wordcount than this column allows, but this was an excellent tone-resetting confrontation after Le Dinner Debonair, and one that added heaps of intrigue to the storyline ahead of Full Gear.

A surprise Eric Bischoff appearance after questions from Britt Baker, Luchasaurus, and (hilariously) Peter Avalon took things up a notch. Easy E spread tension by asking how MJF and Jericho could trust each other, given they share so many prima donna traits, and while both wrestlers were agitated by this, Tony Schiavone's "shut up!" putdown of Chris Jericho was a certified popper.

The resolution was simple: Chris challenged Max to a match at Full Gear, promising he'll be allowed to join the Inner Circle if he wins. MJF's response? He'll do anything to win, Chris. Anything.

Loading that last "anything" was a masterstroke on 'The Salt of the Earth's' behalf, as it could mean a turn, a betrayal, ridiculous levels of violence, or something entirely different. It instantly made an already-interesting match even more exciting, loading both wrestlers up with all kinds of future possibilities.
