10 Ups & 3 Downs From Impact Wrestling (Oct 29)

5. Caught In The Fold

Brand new X Division Champion Ace Austin had his first match since capturing the championship this week when he battled arch-rival Eddie Edwards in what turned out to be an incredibly entertaining street fight.

Right off the bat, things were brought up to the extreme level, with Eddie utilising a trash can lid to batter 'The One True Ace'. Later on, we were treated (if you can call it that) to a run-in from Ace's pals in Reno Scum, but they did very little to help the champ, with one of the lads being sent into a table propped in the corner that didn't completely break. Nasty.

Following this, all manner of weapons were brought into the ring, with Ace finding himself trapped in a trash can, and then smacked with a steel chair. He would have the last laugh, however, as he first snapped Kenny the kendo stick across his knee (meaning we'll see a replacement stick in a week or two), before sending the former World Champion crashing through a table as he connected with a top rope version of The Fold for the win.

This was all kinds of fun.

Even though the title wasn't on the line, it was a heavily enjoyable match that furthered the story between the competitors, with Ace taunting Eddie with his 'I just banged your wife' shirt. Additionally, it's great to see that Adam Thornstowe and Luster The Legend are still aligned with the X Division Champion.

Keep that going for as long as possible, because they're a phenomenal trio.
