10 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Collision (June 24)

2. The Cheap Route For Christian Cage

AEW Collision Luchasaurus Christian Cage
AEW

Christian Cage is a magnificent heel, a phenomenal talker, and someone who has shown time and time again how fantastic he is at garnering a desired reaction from a crowd. And while he did manage to get himself booed in his hometown of Toronto, Cage took an unnecessarily cheap route to get that.

By that, Cage took the path of ripping on the local sports teams.

Simply put, Christian is better than this. Going after the Toronto Maple Leafs and Toronto Raptors is the sort of low-hanging fruit that a lesser heel should use to get heat. Such easy fodder is better reserved for villains who don't have the confidence, presence or ability of Cage.

Was abusing the Leafs and Raptors effective? Yes. But this felt like a copout way to illicit a response, when Christian is skilled enough to steer clear of such clichés.
