10 Ups & 4 Downs From IMPACT Wrestling Bound For Glory 2021
1. Lol TNA
IMPACT actually made Josh Alexander the World Champion in a stellar match with Christian Cage, brought his wife and son into the ring to celebrate, then had Moose defeat him for the title while they were still in the ring to end Bound For Glory.
Are we back in the Hulk Hogan era of IMPACT?
This can't even be classed as an incredible piece of booking. It's a messy situation that IMPACT couldn't afford to encounter at this pay-per-view. With rumours floating around hours before the event commenced that their working relationship with AEW was up, you were left wondering if the Anthem-helmed promotion could still succeed with that particular Forbidden Door apparently being closed. Now, they've dug themselves an unnecessary hole.
No one was asking for this. There were audible groans from the audience once they saw Moose emerging from the crowd. They wasted months of Josh Alexander being built up as this credible worker, having bangers with everyone, doing media whenever asked, and wrestling (presumably) the final IMPACT/AEW cross-promotional match just to job him out to Moose straight away.
This wasn't a heat-provoking segment for Moose; it put IMPACT back as that bad taste in your mouth.
