10 Ups & 4 Downs From Impact Wrestling (Oct 4)

5. X Division Developments

Bound For Glory will play host to a five way ladder match for Jake Crist's X Division Championship, with Tessa Blanchard being the first name to qualify. The second challenger was confirmed this week, as Daga was victorious over the debuting Chris Bey, putting him away with a double underhook Codebreaker variation following an intense, fast-paced contest.

What happened following the match was intriguing though, as Daga was ambushed by both Jake Crist and his oVe pal Madman Fulton, only to be saved by Tessa Blanchard. While they'll be on opposing sides of the ring come Bound For Glory, the 'Undeniable One' wasn't just going to sit back and watch another person being beaten down by oVe. She and Daga sent Crist and Fulton packing, as tensions within the X division reached an all-time high.

As a little side note here, that Chris Bey was rather good. Even in defeat, he showed promise when presented with a huge opportunity. Daga was obviously going to win this match, but that didn't stop you from thinking 'what if?'. Bey slowly won over the audience as the match progressed, something that not everyone's capable of. Here's hoping he becomes a more regular fixture in the division.
