10 Ups & 4 Downs From Last Night's WWE SmackDown (Jan 29)
6. Tag Madness
SmackDown's talented tag division delivered its trademark Fun Action™ last night, as Heavy Machinery, The Usos, The Bar, and The New Day did battle for the right to challenge Shane McMahon and The Miz.
The elimination bout's first fall highlighted Otis Dozovic. His weird, creepy personality came to the forefront, but he was made to look a serious powerhouse while grappling with Big E as well. Slowly, surely, this human bowling ball is getting himself over, and it was him and Tucker Knight who claimed the first scalp, putting Kofi Kingston away with the Compactor.
Heavy Machinery's night ended when Knight was put away by The Bar's uppercut/Brogue Kick flurry, leaving Sheamus and Cesaro to battle eventual victors The Usos, who splashed their way to victory. Jimmy and Jey's triumph was the right choice. We've just seen The Bar tangle with Miz & Mac, and Heavy Machinery aren't yet settled on a many roster brand, while The Usos can be slotted into the title picture at any given time. They'll likely help the champions to another good match, too.
This division's quality is such that its best teams can be thrown into any match, without any build, and still deliver something enjoyable. These eight competitors proved it again last night.
