10 Ups & 5 Downs From Impact Wrestling (May 5)
7. Up The North
During part one of Rebellion, The North demanded to face Canada's best for their World Tag Team Championships, with the duo set to mark one year as champions come the start of July. If you go back to read the column for that show, you'll remember that feature was praised, simply because the wrestling scene in Canada is amazing right now. Unfortunately, we didn't quite get what was expected.
Instead, Ethan Page and Josh Alexander battled a tandem known as The Creeps - individually, called Egger and Ham, according to Cagematch. Those two couldn't have been scrawnier if they tried, which made it even better when 'All Ego' and 'The Walking Weapon' picked them apart piece by piece. A swinging DDT ensured The North remained the champions to the shock of literally nobody, with a ringside announcer being over the moon throughout the match.
Between that guy - whoever he was - and Ethan Page's comedic timing, the match was a great laugh. Page's line regarding Kurt Angle's 90 day no-compete clause was exceptional comedy from 'All Ego'. The Canadian powerhouse doesn't get the recognition he deserves sometimes when it comes to his funny side.
