Hulk Hogan and Randy Savage's fabulous show-closing brawl wasn't a fitting finale to their rivalry, because it wasn't one at all.

WWE had been so pleased with the financial success of the programme (more on that later) that they dragged the feud out beyond the 'Show Of Shows', but that didn't stop the pair going all out to produce what was - by a mile - the best WrestleMania main event ever at that point.

Hogan always had these matches in him when the situation called for it, and Savage was a spitfire as always in what proved to be his final outing as the heel world Champion. A year-long arc was magnificently massaged to get to this point - it was immensely satisfying to see the payoff match the build.
