10 Ups And 12 Downs From WWE WrestleMania 34

7. 'Taker Squashes Cena

In some perverse way, The Undertaker squashing John Cena in a matter of minutes has to be gratifying for many fans out there.

But as a wrestling fan who was looking forward to seeing a contest between two of the greatest performers in the past quarter-century, this writer can’t help but be disappointed. Cena spent weeks calling out 'Taker and begging him to meet him at WrestleMania for a match. He came out to face 'Taker, and when it looked like he wasn’t going to show, he left.

Then the Deadman emerged, stalked to the ring, and pummeled Cena. A zombie situp avoided Cena’s one offensive burst (the Five Knuckle Shuffle) and then a chokeslam and tombstone piledriver ended it. Undertaker’s entrance probably lasted longer than the match itself.

So instead of a competitive, epic confrontation between two legends we got an epic entrance and return, with a glorified squash stapled onto it.
