10 Ups And 14 Downs For WWE In 2015 (So Far)

11. Fall Of The Soviet Empire

When 2015 began, Rusev and Lana were in the midst of a reign of terror over the WWE midcard. The Bulgarian Brute had defeated everyone a step below the main event and was poised to make a splash at a higher level. Obviously, Rusev was going to have to lose a match at some point, but what has transpired during the first half of 2015 has not been something to remember. After defeating John Cena to defend the United States Championship at WWE Fastlane, Rusev went on to lose three straight PPV matches to Cena, including the title at WrestleMania XXXI. He also lost Lana as his valet (to Dolph Ziggler) and injured his foot, putting him on the shelf for more than a month. He€™s gone from an unstoppable foreign monster to a forlorn man pining for one blonde (Lana) while he has another (Summer Rae) on his arm. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xGNfvg4yHFM As for Lana, she had been portrayed as a smart, beautiful, villainous woman who once stood toe-to-toe with the Rock on the mic. Suddenly, she has turned into a smiling sidekick to Ziggler, kissing Dolph, accompanying him to ringside and little else. She can hopefully reclaim her status as a leading lady in WWE with some smart writing in the second half. Being Ziggler€™s arm candy can€™t be her ceiling.

He fortunately became a fan in time for WrestleMania III and came back as a fan after a long high school hiatus before WM XIV. Monday nights in the Carlson household are reserved for viewing Raw -- for better or worse.
