Saturday night at Evolve’s 10th Anniversary show, Drew Gulak battled Matt Riddle in a tough, physical match where he came up short.

Sunday night, the WWE Cruiserweight Champion rebounded to convincingly defeat former champ Tony Nese in his hometown of Philadelphia. Gulak was physical throughout the match, hitting a shotgun dropkick at the bell and continuing throughout. He and Nese had a nice reversal sequence toward the end that led to a Gulak powerbomb for a close 2, followed by a Cyclone Crash for the win.

And bonus points for Gulak wearing orange and black, the colors of the local NHL team, the Flyers, a team known for its gritty (pun intended), hard-hitting attitude, much like Gulak himself.
