10 Ups And 7 Downs From WWE Extreme Rules 2019

1. Yay, More Brock!

It’s fair to say that we had to expect that we’d be getting more Brock Lesnar the moment he “won” the Money in the Bank briefcase back in May.

And back then, this column blasted the decision, with the opinion that Brock needed to go on a long vacation, not become the focal point of the entire promotion again. So here, when Lesnar cashed in the briefcase and won the WWE Universal Championship, we have to give that a “down” here.

It’s even worse when you consider that Seth Rollins was amped up after demolishing Baron Corbin for attacking Becky Lynch, and yet he rolled over in seconds to two German suplexes and one F-5. It just made him look impotent. And really, that’s the message you want to send? Your champ is a geek who can get punked out and beaten like it’s nothing. Rollins had access to chairs and kendo sticks and failed to do anything to protect himself.

And now we’ll get more of Lesnar… well, that actually means less, as he’ll likely disappear until SummerSlam and then again until Survivor Series… maybe.

But hey, maybe with Paul Heyman at the helm of Raw, perhaps there’s actually a real plan here to make it all work. Prove this wrong, WWE.
