6. Going Into Business For Themselves

A few days ago, this column caught a fair amount of flack for criticizing fans at NXT TakeOver: Dallas for some of their antics during a couple matches. It was noted that the fans added a ton of energy to the show, but they detracted from a couple matches at a couple points. Several commenters disagreed, which is fine. It was a matter of personal preference.

But it€™s hard to dispute that the crowd Monday night crossed the line during Charlotte€™s promo after being presented the new Women€™s Championship. Stepping outside of her heel character for a few moments, Charlotte tried to talk honestly about how the women in the ring were working to elevate the women€™s division in WWE. The fans started chanting for Bayley, which Charlotte acknowledged, then asked them to let her speak seriously. It was pretty obvious she wasn€™t €œheeling it up€ at that point.

Instead, the crowd proceeded to continue singing Bayley chants as Charlotte repeatedly asked them to listen to her as she tried to put over the women€™s division. It€™s rare to admit this, but JBL nailed it when he muttered, €œThese people are rude.€The fans Monday night were entertaining and great throughout the show. They made Enzo & Big Cass€™ debut special. They showed appreciation for Shane McMahon€™s stuntman antics. They gave Zack Ryder another special moment. But they got a little too carried away during the women€™s division segment.

He fortunately became a fan in time for WrestleMania III and came back as a fan after a long high school hiatus before WM XIV. Monday nights in the Carlson household are reserved for viewing Raw -- for better or worse.
