10 Venues That Should Host A Future WrestleMania

8. Madison Square Garden (New York, New York)

Opened: 1968 Capacity: 18,500 in the seating configuration for wrestling Let's get one thing clear... this is easily the least likely to host WrestleMania of any venue on this list. That upsets a lot of people, but it simply doesn't fit in with the business model for Mania anymore. WrestleMania 30 brought in nearly $11 million in ticket revenue with an attendance of 75,167 people. That's an average ticket sale of $145. That same ticket average would bring in under $2.7 million in ticket revenue for a Mania at MSG these days. Not a bad number, and up from the $2.4 million that was grossed when WrestleMania 20 was held there, but still a huge step down. That would mean ticket prices would have to be astronomical to help make up for some of the losses, especially now that Mania doesn't bring in one million homes ordering the show on pay-per-view. However, there is no denying the magic that MSG holds. It is one of the most famous arenas on the planet for a reason. Over the last few years, we've seen different reasons why WWE has basically been phasing MSG out of their plans. None of them really matter, though, because it's a shame. There used to be multiple major events, whether they were television or pay-per-view, in the venue on a yearly basis. Now, there's only the occasional house show. There hasn't been a non-house show there since the 2011 Survivor Series and there hasn't been a television taping since the November 16th, 2009 episode of Raw. Even with the ticket prices that would have to be raised to a ridiculous level and with 50,000-60,000 less people in attendance than we're used to seeing at WrestleMania these days, it would be pretty cool to see "The Mecca" hosting the biggest event in wrestling again.
