When the internet phenomenon known as Danhausen made his surprise debut during the ‘Lights Out’ match on Wednesday’s edition of AEW Dynamite, it left fans in Cleveland and around the world in a state of shock. With everyone busy speculating on whether Johnny Gargano would appear at the event (Cleveland being ‘Johnny Wrestling’s’ hometown and all), Tony Khan took full advantage of the distraction and pulled off a genuinely surprising debut, which is no easy feat in the internet era of modern wrestling.

While the debut may have been a surprise, that’s not to say it isn’t well-deserved. Danhausen is an excellent in-ring competitor who has created a unique persona that is as charismatic as it is entertaining. That being said, much of his growth has occurred online rather than on-screen, leaving some to wonder who is Danhausen and why do most folks seem to love this guy?

If you’re left scratching your head when it comes to the ‘Very Nice, Very Evil’ wrestler, never fear, there are plenty of fascinating facts to dive into.

10. Jim Cornette Likes Danhausen?!

Calling Jim Cornette outspoken about his disdain for certain aspects of modern professional wrestling wouldn’t do the man justice. The former manager of The Midnight Express seems to have an affinity for saying whatever is on his mind to his Cult Of Cornette faithful in various shoot interviews and podcasts, often racking up equal amounts of praise and criticism for his blunt takes on the current wrestling landscape.

Orange Cassidy tends to be one of the more common topics of criticism for Cornette, along with AEW President Tony Khan, Kenny Omega, Chris Jericho, and The Young Bucks.

While many remain divided by the unapologetic legend’s hot takes, what cannot be argued is his words carry enormous weight to many fans. With all this in mind, it is surprising to find out Jim Cornette actually enjoys Danhausen. Fans purchased several cameos for Cornette from the ‘Very Nice, Very Evil’ pro wrestler. While this was likely done in jest, Cornette revealed on his podcast that he actually likes Danhausen, praising him for the amount of work put into the character.

This may soon change, as he is very critical of the AEW product. But, for the moment, Cornette seems to be a fanhausen.
