10 Vince McMahon Moments Netflix WON’T Talk About

8. Wrestling "God"

'Religion and wrestling don't mix' is a popular opinion.

That hasn't stopped McMahon's WWE from trying to use spirituality as a plot device or heat-seeking missile with fans. In 2006, the company even exploited the fact that Shawn Michaels was a born again Christian to sell his feud with Vince and Shane. At Backlash 2006, HBK's partner was "God".

"God" ended up being a spotlight entrance, and the match wound up being more of a handicap affair. The almighty didn't throw punches or hit some Stunners, but some in the religious community were appalled by WWE's presentation. Imagine the uproar on social media these days? It'd be fierce.

This is one Netflix will avoid. Though they're hardly shy when it comes to shocking topics, this divine disaster shouldn't be on the menu when they're thrashing out content for each episode. It'd be unnecessary, and it'd only cause problems.
