10 Ways AEW Is Nothing Like TNA

8. Dynamite Is A Better Wrestling Show Than TNA Weekly Pay-Per-Views

The enjoyment of pro wrestling, like all forms of entertainment, is entirely subjective. Some people like the storytelling, other people like the athleticism, some people even like the chinlocks. The lucky few find joy in all aspects of it. One man's entertainment creates apathy in another. Professional wrestling has a dwindling audience, and the last thing it needs is for fans to lambast others for the simple act of enjoying something.

With that in mind, does anyone think that TNA's weekly pay-per-views were better than AEW Dynamite?

AEW Dynamite has been a critically acclaimed success so far, a professional wrestling show that embraces the traditional in a most modern way, a stacked television program that isn't afraid to take chances and has shown a willingness and ability to learn from its own mistakes. Say what you like about the various cogs, the wheel is turning smoothly. If the aim was to be a breath of fresh air in the wrestling world, AEW Dynamite is a great success.

Those early TNA pay-per-views were just about as hit and miss as it gets, with the ledger a little more stacked on the latter as opposed to the former. For every Low-Ki vs. Amazing Red and AJ Styles vs. Jerry Lynn there was a Ron Harris vs. Norman Smiley or Jeff Jarrett vs. Glenn Gilberti. TNA planted some okay seeds in those early days, but it also planted plenty of rotting imperishables.

AEW Dynamite is a better wrestling show than those early TNA pay-per-views, a better show from top to bottom than Impact ever was.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
