10 Ways DDT Did WWE Better Than WWE At WrestleMania 35 Weekend

8. Comedy That's Actually Funny

Comedy is subjective, but WWE's is the drizzling sh*ts.

Vince McMahon's creative team aren't funny. At all. The big man regularly churns out charmless dreck that exists to pop himself and himself alone, and his attempts at comic writing regularly yield WWE's worst televised content (hello there, Bobby Lashley's sisters). Jokes spun from the minds of genuinely funny personalities like R-Truth sometimes hit the mark, but WWE's humour usually sucks.

DDT doesn't always get it right, either, and your writer could definitely have done without Joey Ryan flexing his penis at Coming To America (and Danshoku Dieno coming perilously close to wiping his exposed arse in several front-row audience members' faces). Still, their hit rate is a lot higher than WWE's, as proven throughout this show.

Kikutaro, one of the best comedy wrestlers of all time, was in the house. A toilet bowl, bicycle, and Lego bricks came into play during the battle royal. The Hulk Hogan/Shinsuke Nakamura impersonators were hilarious. Blow-up doll YOSHIKO made an appearance during said bout too (Jim Cornette be damned), and even KO-D Openweight Champion Tetsuya Endo raised a few chuckles by ribbing on his own lack of spoken English.

In short: your writer hasn't laughed so hard at a wrestling show in ages.
