10 Ways Monday Night Raw Ruined WWE

9. Replaced Prime Time Wrestling

When Vince McMahon envisioned Monday Night Raw, he was effectively kissing goodbye to Prime Time Wrestling, the previous Monday night staple for the WWF. This two hour show is fondly remembered by a lot of wrestling enthusiasts, mainly due to the witty banter between real-life good pals Gorilla Monsoon and Bobby 'The Brain' Heenan. Starting in 1985, Prime Time Wrestling was an enjoyable slice of wrestling TV, and the ideal place to keep up with all the weekly goings on in the WWF. This is where Monday Night Raw admittedly seemed so revolutionary, it was on location, whereas shows such as Prime Time were taped in-studio. A lot of fans were sad to see the telecast disappear however, especially due to the winning formula of the show. Analysing matches from the comfort of a plush studio, Monsoon and Heenan were a riot together, and once Raw came along, their time of being the best announce duo in the business was starting to come to an end.
