10 Ways NXT Is Making WWE Look Bad

4. Importance Of Live Specials

WWE.comWWE.comWhile WWE does a fairly good job of building its monthly pay-per-views for the most part, there are times when the events come across as over-hyped episodes of Monday Night Raw. Either the wrestling is mediocre, the stories fall flat or the matches are ones fans have already been exposed to numerous times before on free television. As a result, fans cannot help but feel disappointed and cheated. After all, pay-per-view events were built on the promise that fans would see things they could not see for free on television. They were the events that creative would go out of its way to create buzz-worthy moments for. The stars and management recognize the importance of giving fans everything they have during their two-hour live specials. Both NXT Arrival and Takeover have featured outstanding wrestling from the likes of Adrian Neville, Sami Zayn, Cesaro and Divas like Paige and Charlotte. The production values have been outstanding and the crowd has treated every match like it was truly important, mostly because they have been portrayed that way. The effort from all involved is off-the-charts and as a result, the fans reward the hard work with praise on Twitter, Facebook and other social media platforms. To quote the late, great Gorilla Monsoon, "it is a happening" when NXT presents a special event. The wrestling world sits up and takes notice. With the success of the first two, the expectations for each one hereafter will only grow. As long as the men and the women of the brand continue to put in the hard work and dedication, those expectations will not only be met, they will be exceeded. Something that cannot be said about every WWE pay-per-view extravaganza.

He resides in Parts Unknown, where he hosts weekly cookouts with Kane, The Ultimate Warrior, Papa Shango and The Boogeyman. Be jealous.
