9. Set The Tone
Even though that very first match of Impact Wrestling was littered with future World Champions and X Division Champions, the action itself is what set it apart. For the majority of your viewers, guys like Eddie Edwards and Davie Richards are going to be familiar faces but for the casual fan just tuning in who aren't aware, the action is going to make all the difference. The tone and pace of a match can make or break a performance, no matter how talented the individuals are. Just watch Punk vs. Jericho @ WrestleMania 28 for proof. The opening match to the initial Impact broadcast had the perfect formula. It started off quickly, with 3 men catapulting themselves over the top rope onto their opponents. From there the pace slowed down just enough to keep viewers engaged before leading to the amazing finish. Some of the most talented wrestlers performed some of the most dangerous finishers. You had Amazing Red perform his sunset flip power bomb Code Red. The late Hector Garza finished the match with his corkscrew moon sault Torneo. This was proceeded by maybe the best finishing move in TNA history (another article for another time) The Canadian Destroyer by Petey Williams. Focus on the incredible amount of talent your performers have and utilize their high flying style properly and fans are going to be hooked in each week.
