The search function was abysmal when the network first launched. It has improved over time, but is still lacking and is far from reliable. For those not familiar with software development or testing, applications like the WWE Network are put through rigorous user acceptance testing, also sometimes called beta testing, in which phases of the programs are tested in a real-world environment to ensure its functionality. Simply put, people test the software to make sure it works properly. As much as I know this next statement cannot be true, I can't help but feel that the search function phase of the WWE Network was never tested nor given any sort of priority into confirming its usefulness. Typing "WrestleMania VII" into the search field produces the WrestleMania 31 Kickoff at the top of the list of results followed by a number of Monday Night RAW episodes from 1998. Another egregious example of its poor performance is that typing "Macho vs Warrior" will bring back SummerSlam 1990 as the first entry. Not only did Macho King/Man and Ultimate Warrior not wrestle each other at this event, but they hadn't even begun feuding yet. A deeper, much more detailed search page in which there are filters, fields and checkboxes available to identify different match types, venues, dates, referees, years, and additional criteria is a must hav. In its current state, the search function consists of one blank field in which the system asks the user for an input of strictly "show name" or "superstar" in order to produce any results. This is not good enough and needs to be improved.
