10 Ways Wrestlers Became The Most Badass Versions Of Themselves

2. Becky Lynch: Turned On Charlotte Flair

That Becky Lynch remains the hottest character in WWE 10 months after her rebirth as 'The Man' is miraculous in this era of short attention spans and goldfish bowl booking, and it has as much to do with the former 'Lass Kicker's' own graft as it does the company's presentation of her.

A peripheral player for much of her WWE career, Lynch became a vanguard at SummerSlam 2018, the build to which saw long-time frenemy Charlotte Flair silver spoon her way into Becky's hard-earned SmackDown Women's Title match with Carmella. 'The Queen' won, because of course she did, and Lynch snapped, battering Charlotte all over ringside in what was supposed to be a heel turn.

Lynch was now the villain... except she wasn't. The fans rejected it outright. Inadvertently, WWE had turned Becky into a folk hero, and while creative kept swimming against the overwhelmingly supportive crowd reactions for a short while after SummerSlam, Lynch's course was eventually righted. She was 'The Man,' and everything - from her and Charlotte's instant classic at Evolution to her blood-soaked pre-Survivor Series invasion of Raw - built to WrestleMania 35, where she captured both Women's Titles in a historic first women's main event.
