10 Ways WWE Can Maintain Their Current Business Success
8. Run More International Tours
For the first time in more than a decade, average attendance at international events was eclipsed by average attendance at North American events. That wasn't because US & Canada attendance went through the roof - it was basically flat against last year. Instead, international PPV and International Live Event revenues have been dropping for several consecutive years. It's time WWE put a greater focus on their global strategy and tweaked their touring strategies. In the past year, WWE ran four times as many North American Shows (256) than International Shows (65). With an added two-week tour, they could lower that ratio to 3:1. WWE is constantly espousing their potential to grow revenue in overseas markets, but they need to devote more time in order to generating more live event revenues. It's a lucrative tour, when you can arrange a steady schedule. The international ticket revenue is higher (almost 63% higher) with average ticket price of $74 against $45 domestically. It's an underserved market and very meaningful, especially for pushing their consumer products segment (licensing, merchandise) in the future.
