10 Ways WWE Can Make Network-Aired House Shows More Special

9. Use WCW's Old Battlebowl Concept

WWE holds a ton of random patents under its brand these days. Included in these are a ton of event names and concepts from WCW, a promotion that for what they lacked in revenue, certainly made up for it with innovation. Of the many concepts that WCW had, the idea of random draw tag tournament "Battlebowl" could be amazing. Imagine if Saturday night's MSG event was a "Battlebowl" tournament where the winners of random draw tag matches (from partners shoot drawn earlier in the day) were entered into a battle royal, and the winner faced Brock Lesnar in the main event. From the roster available for last night's show, we could've easily seen John Cena and Dolph Ziggler as a tag, which given where the company may want to go with storylines could've been compelling. If Big Show would've destroyed an opponent with three chokeslams in a tag match and then romped his way through a battle royal, then his performance against Lesnar would've actually made sense than say, having him knock out Cesaro on TV and kill his momentum prior to the event. In considering what WWE has from WCW in their "cupboard" of ideas, they could've dusted off this ingredient and created quite the entertaining event on Saturday night...but they didn't.
