10 Ways WWE Can Shake Up RAW
9. Advertise What Will Happen On The Show
I don't mean announce a couple of things during a rambling opening promo segment that goes on for 40 minutes. I don't mean have a couple of blokes exchange predetermined barbs before agreeing to go ONE-ON-ONE WITH DA UNDERTAKA, PLAYA at the end of it all. We're supposed to believe that this is a coherent organisation, right? Such things have shows planned out, main events booked ahead of time. Enough booking matches in the opening segment, please.
There are plenty of reasons for AEW's success over its first year of existence, but the relatively simple move of announcing matches a week ahead of the shows has certainly helped. If I know what is going to be on the show, I'm more likely to tune in, right? RAW has obliterated whatever goodwill it may have had with fans, with fewer viewers giving WWE the benefit of the doubt when it comes to the line-up. WWE doesn't announce matches ahead of time, and it routinely puts on a conveyor belt of sh*t. Why should anyone care?
WWE is as social media obsessed as everyone else seems to be, so why not spend time building up RAW in the days between episodes? Tell fans the matches, the segments, the shows. The element of surprise is useless if you only serve up microwave dinners.
