10 Ways WWE Could Improve Hall Of Fame

10. Create A Voting Committee

The very first thing that WWE needs to improve on in regards to the Hall Of Fame is the same thing that currently drags down their overall product and that is the stranglehold of Vince McMahon. While McMahon is undoubtedly the greatest promoter in sports-entertainment history, that doesn't make him the greatest at everything he does and that includes the Hall Of Fame selection. More so than Vince's choices, the lack of an organised voting committee really hurts the perception of the institution by those outside WWE. Favouritism, personal opinions, personal history, and friendships are all things that should be largely avoided when discussing an honour such as a Hall Of Fame induction. With Vince McMahon owning the sole decision behind who is inducted each year, egregious oversights like Randy Savage not being inducted until 2015 and Bruno Sammartino not being inducted until 2013 occur. The power of induction needs to be removed from a sole opinion. While Triple H has stepped up in recent years to shoulder some of the load (and it's helped improve the Hall Of Fame's status), the ultimate decision still lies in the hands of Vince McMahon. Instead, a trusted group of proven wrestling minds, covering all eras and styles, should be employed to handle such decisions. The group would need to have integrity and, therefore in order to do it right, may need to include some individuals that WWE has not always seen eye-to-eye with. As difficult as that might be for Vince, the best thing for business is to change the current selection process and entrust it to a larger group of well-respected, accomplished wrestling greats.
