10 Ways WWE Has Shot Itself In The Foot In 2026
7. The Women’s Tag Team Division
In early 2026, WWE's female tag team scene was blossoming. Top singles stars like Charlotte Flair, Alexa Bliss, Iyo Sky, and Rhea Ripley were all involved, as were compelling teams such as The Irresistible Forces and The Kabuki Warriors.
It looked like a star-studded multi-team match was on the cards for WrestleMania 42. Unfortunately, fate - and WWE's merchandising team - had other ideas.
Ripley and Sky's team was abruptly broken up so the Aussie could feud with Jade Cargill instead, leaving her partner without a direction. The Judgment Day became embroiled in Liv Morgan's boring storyline with Stephanie Vaquer and The Kabuki Warriors drifted out of the title picture altogether. Then came The Bellas.
It became clear that WWE had moved everything around just so The Bella Twins could win the titles at WrestleMania. Even when Nikki was taken out with an injury, Brie still won the belts with a returning Paige as her partner.
So much potential was left on the table just so a pair of semi-retired Hall of Famers could have another moment in the spotlight. Such a frustrating waste.
